James Suckling Wine Reviews 2017

Grand Esprit Saint-Estèphe 2015 - 92 Points

The aromas to this are complex with hazelnut, cloves and currant character. Full body, firm and silky. Polished and focused. Shows lots of tannins and hints of new wood still. Needs a year or two to come together. Blend of 60% cabernet sauvignon, 35% merlot and 5% cabernet sauvignon.

La Mystèriale Santenay Premier Cru 2015 - 91 Points

The aromas of flowers, strawberry and rose petal are impressive. Vivid and lifted. Medium body, bright and vivid with citrusy acidity and a solid, focused center palate. Focused and tensioned. A year or two of bottle age would be better before drinking this but it's already delicious.

La Mystèriale Lussac Saint-Émilion 2015- 92 Points

This is very floral and vivid with hints of orange peel and currant character. Medium to full body, tight and focused with a pretty phenolic tension and intensity. Center palate focus. Bright finish. Drink or hold.

La Mystèriale Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2015 - 93 Points

Beautiful aromas of dried strawberry, cherry and flower with hot stones. Full body, layered and flavorful with lots of fruit yet it doesn't go over the line. Cherry undertones at the finish. Ripe tannins. Energetic acidity at the same time. Blend of 80% grenache, 10% mourvedre, 6% syrah, 4% counoise and cinsault. Drink now.

L'être Magique Bourgogne 2016 - 89 Points

A pretty and vivid entry level Burgundy with dried strawberry, orange peel and other citrus undertones. Medium body, light tannins. Delicious fruit at the finish. Drink now.

L'être Magique Côtes de Provence 2016 - 91 Points

An aromatic rosé with volcanic ash, pear skin and citrus aromas that follow through to a medium to full body, linear and bright acidity and a mineral and dried apple and strawberry aftertaste. Vinous and fun. Blend of 55% grenache, 30% cinsault and 15% syrah. Screw cap.

L'être Magique Bordeaux 2015 - 90 Points

This has a nice linear line running through it with medium body, light and fine tannins. Currant and blackberry character. Hints of sweet tobacco. Bright and clean. Real Bordeaux style. Mostly merlot with some cabernet sauvignon and franc. Dash of carmenere in the blend. Drink now.

L'être Magique Crémant de Bourgogne NV - 90 Points

A fresh and bright sparkling wine with apple and cream aromas and flavors. Hints of yogurt. Full body, pretty bubbles and a flavorful finish. Blend of 60% chardonnay, 20% pinot noir and 20% gamay. A fun and lively sparkling wine. Bottled fermented and 12 months on lees. Drink now.
